Folding Papers for Kerouac (a text of Carl Norac translated by Vadim Bystritski)
.
What needs to be said is always
against the flow of the sky
this one too many hotel where we
drag our heels in the mind dust
all of a sudden we’ve lost a well-deserved step
and the fixity doesn’t let the veins pump the right fuel
.
Mister Kerouac runs and his poems limp right behind
to the bilge this riff is for real not a guitar
he thinks ghosts took over his head
some jackknife
today he is pushing through the crowd
.
in his shabby room he stays serene
under the bed God’s shoes are always too white
he tosses them out the window
laughs not to follow them
aside against the flow of the sky
to the second one
between the lines
.
.
Papiers Pliés pour Kerouac
.
ghosts in my head pense-t-il
